Home Health Care Services (intro)

Many people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness prefer to spend their last days, weeks or months at home. Everyone facing life-threatening illness will need some degree of supportive care in addition to treatment for their condition. In some cases this could involve 24 hour care, which inevitably also places a huge strain on the carer, who could be a family member or friend.

For the patient and the carer, there are several support networks to provide essential practical and emotional help.

  • Your own General Practitioner (GP)
  • District nurse
  • Macmillan nurse
  • Palliative care nurse
  • Social services
  • Hospice

On the pages below you can find out more about the health services available, practical help at home and support for carers.

Or you can call us on 0800 634 9494 for more information on the support options available.
