Fees and charges


The funeral director will give you a written estimate of the funeral costs that need to be paid. This will be made up from the funeral director's own costs and the payments they make to others on your behalf.

The funeral director's own charges will include:

Looking after the person who has died until the funeral
Funeral cars and staff
Professional services, which includes advice and time spent working with third parties
Doctor
Crematorium and/or church or cemetery
Cost of the coffin or casket

The funeral director may also make payments to some of the following third parties on your behalf, known as 'disbursements':

Minister, celebrant or officiant

Organist
Florist
Newspaper notice
Catering arrangements
